Building energy performance report

A building energy performance report is a document that contains information about the energy consumption of a building and its impact on energy resources.

The report assesses how efficiently a building uses energy for heating, cooling, ventilation, lighting, and other needs, and provides recommendations for improving these indicators.

The main objectives of the energy efficiency report:

  • Assessment of energy consumption – analysis of the building’s energy consumption based on the use of different energy systems.
  • Determination of the energy efficiency class – the building is assigned a certain efficiency class (from A to G), where A is the highest level of energy efficiency and G is the lowest.
  • Identification of problem areas – identifying areas where energy is lost (poor insulation, outdated heating or ventilation systems).
  • Recommendations for improvement – suggestions for modernizing building systems to reduce energy consumption and increase efficiency.

What the energy efficiency report includes:

  • Building overview: a description of the building’s characteristics (area, number of floors, type of building materials).
  • Thermal insulation assessment: analysis of the level of insulation of walls, windows, roofs and floors, through which heat loss can occur.
  • Review of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems: assessment of the efficiency of these systems and their impact on energy consumption.
  • Analysis of lighting use: identifying opportunities to reduce energy consumption through the use of modern energy-saving technologies (e.g., LED lamps).
  • Energy efficiency class determination: determining the class based on the overall assessment results.
Savings projections: calculations of potential energy savings after implementation of the recommended measures.

Benefits of conducting an energy audit and receiving a report:

  • Reduced utility costs – implementing energy efficiency measures can significantly reduce energy bills.
  • Improved comfort of living – more efficient heating, ventilation and insulation systems increase the comfort of living in a building.
  • Increased real estate value – energy efficient buildings are more attractive to buyers, which increases their market value.
  • Environmental responsibility – reducing energy consumption helps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and has a positive impact on the environment.

Obtaining an energy efficiency report is becoming increasingly important in the context of rising energy costs and stricter requirements for energy-saving measures.
