What is the difference between a residential, country and garden house?

When planning to build or buy a house, it is important to understand the difference between a residential, country, and garden house. Each of these types has its own characteristics that affect their use, legal status, and requirements for arrangement.

It is important to know the difference because:

1. The type of house you plan to build depends on the intended use of the land plot.

The designated purpose of the land plot determines what types of houses can be built on it. Residential buildings are usually located on land plots intended for individual residential construction (IRC). Country houses can be built on plots for summer cottage construction, and garden houses can be built on land plots for gardening. Choosing the right type of house will help you avoid legal problems and fines.

2. Each house has its own equipment requirements.

A residential building must meet standards that ensure comfortable permanent residence. This includes water supply, sewerage, heating, electricity and ventilation. Country houses usually have less stringent requirements, as they are intended for seasonal or temporary residence.

Garden houses may have the simplest equipment, as they are often used only for recreation and storage of garden tools.

3. Not all buildings allow you to register your place of residence.

In residential buildings, you can register your permanent place of residence (registration). This is important for receiving a number of public services and social benefits. Country houses, although sometimes used for permanent residence, do not always allow official registration. Garden houses, as a rule, do not provide for permanent registration at all.
